Orton Gillingham reading/writing tutor

Hello!

Jessica Hasson is the owner of MultiSense Tutoring, a private tutoring service specializing in the use of the Orton-Gillingham approach for students struggling with dyslexia and dysgraphia.

Jessica's Story

Jessica grew up just outside of Taos in the small town of Española, New Mexico. After receiving her degree in Cultural Anthropology from The University of New Mexico she was awarded an internship at The Smithsonian Center For Folklife and Cultural Heritage in Washington, DC. It was her study of culture that piqued her interest in world travel. During the next four years she traveled to over eighteen countries (!) and taught English while living in Spain, Thailand, and Indonesia.  When the COVID pandemic brought her back to the United States, she was inspired by the work of her mother (an occupational therapist) to begin specializing in teaching children with learning disabilities. Over the past two years she has been training in the Orton-Gillingham approach, the gold-standard of methods for teaching students who struggle with dyslexia, and is currently completing her associate level practicum. Jessica is an incredibly kind, dedicated, and patient tutor who cares deeply about her students. She strives everyday to help each student overcome their own personal challenges, and become more confident in and out of the classroom.
