I grew up just outside of Taos in the small town of Española, New Mexico. After receiving my degree in Cultural Anthropology from The University of New Mexico, I was awarded an internship at The Smithsonian Center For Folklife and Cultural Heritage in Washington, DC. It was my study of culture that piqued my interest in world travel. During the next four years I traveled to over eighteen countries and taught English while living in Spain, Thailand, and Indonesia.
When the COVID pandemic brought me back to the United States, I was inspired by the work of my mother (an occupational therapist) to begin specializing in teaching children with learning disabilities. Since January of 2021, I have been training in and using the Orton-Gillingham approach, the gold-standard of methods for teaching students who struggle with dyslexia, and am now certified at the associate level. I care deeply about my students, and strive everyday to help each student overcome their own personal challenges, and become more confident in and out of the classroom.

At MultiSense Tutoring, I offer personalized, one-on-one Orton-Gillingham-based tutoring for struggling readers in grades K–6. After an informal assessment, I create customized lesson plans tailored to your child’s specific needs.
I focus on strengthening foundational literacy skills, including phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, spelling, and reading comprehension. My multisensory approach engages your child through visual, auditory, and kinesthetic methods, helping them build confidence and achieve success in reading and writing.
